Mission 52

I started this blog as a journal for myself mostly. A place that I could scream at the top of my lungs and be heard. An outlet for all the frustration that comes in being a spiritually single mate. This evening I found another blog with a divine idea for wives or husbands with the mindset of improving their marriage. It is to study and to pray weekly, alone with the Lord for our marriages for each 52 weeks of the year. You can start anytime. And for me, the time is now. I know that I could definitely use some time contemplating how to be a better wife to my dear husband. There are prayers that won't get answered if I don't pray them. And so I begin now to send up the timber to build up my marriage.

Fathers are Generous

Fathers are generous! This is my Sabbath day's epiphany today.

Generosity has not been my experience when it comes to fathers. Not my father or my husband as a father. Today, while reading Bill Hybels book, Too Busy Not To Pray, I stumbled across the sentence, "Most fathers love to be generous with their children." And I am sent reeling. What does that mean? How can that be?! Looking back at my own childhood, I recall needing coloring tools for a project and not being heard until the tears flowed and again in my teens threatening to take the car and check book to buy a typewriter because an assignment required being typed. It did not seem that we could not afford these things. It seemed we could not afford these things for me. There always seemed to be enough for other siblings until it came my turn.
