Pray for your wife

An email I received made this statement and I can attest to the desire of a Christian woman to know that her husband lifts her up in prayer.

Knowing that your family leader cares, notices- is aware of your desires and bringing them before the God that is able to supply them is a moving. It speaks of his love for his wife and his trust in God/ spiritual walk with God.

If I were more articulate, I could relate how leadership- Godly leadership binds a woman to her husband, not by force, but by her own free will. Where he leads, she will follow happily. A woman who knows her husband prays for her will do her best to be the woman that he prays for her to be.

Pray for your wife that ...

. She will know if the dreams in her heart are from God
. She will be able to share her dreams with you
. Her dreams will be compatible with yours
. She will take an interest in what interests you
. The two of you will have interests you share together
. She will be able to surrender her dreams to the Lord
. She will have the desires of her heart

Opposites Attract

He wants to take a ride. Cool.

He wants to take a long ride so he can listen to his new Toby Mac CD, an artist I really don't like.

"You don't have to go," he tells me lightly. Now, I do want to get out of the house with him. I enjoy sitting beside him in the van. Each child in their assigned or chosen seat and nobody, but me, in my space. I can bead or read or write or eat. In short, I can have a complete thought or meal without some one pulling on me or jackin' my food. Heaven, Nirvana- whatever you want to call it it is our family therapy and togetherness time. I do want to go but, I don't want to be stuck listening to that! For hours! Ugh!

I'd like to hear my Christian radio station. They play songs that soothe and uplift, comfort and energize me. And, yep, they even play that music that shakes your bones with bass and drums and to me the lyrics makes no Biblical sense. But hey! What do I know? The public wants to hear it. Seriously, at those moments, I vote by switching my radio dial.

I want to hear something that is going to strengthen and encourage me through the evening stresses of hungry, grumpy toddlers and smart-off teens. And he wants to listen to music that will "pump him up" to- sit in front of the computer?! (that's another story)

I love my husband, but I dislike Toby Mac more tonight. I'll pass on the ride and now my husband is mad. He is taking it as if I have rejected him personally. But the bass will start and all will be forgiven and he and the boys will come home walking bundles of testosterone.

Just thinking about it makes my head hurt. I believe I will put on Carol Rene Green or Brooklyn Tab.

Christian Blessings to All
